Help

In this role as a Senior Municipal Securities Market Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Gathering information about primary offerings of municipal securities including disclosure documents, initial offering price information, and relevant municipal securities market data used to structure and price and primary offerings.
  • Gathering information about continuing disclosure and secondary market trading for municipal securities, including relevant municipal securities market data used to price purchases and sales of municipal securities.
  • Analyzing both primary market pricing and secondary market pricing to detect potential securities law violations.
  • Participating in all aspects of investigations including document review, witness interviews and testimony.
  • Supporting decision making on potential legal violations and recommended enforcement proceedings.
  • Working collaboratively with internal staff at the SEC and with external parties at other securities regulators.
  • Working with internal SEC staff and interacting with outside parties, including witnesses and their counsel.

  • PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION (PCS): Moving/Relocation expenses are not authorized.

  • PROBATIONARY PERIOD: This appointment may require completion of a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

SK-16: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 level:
(1) Collection and analysis with municipal securities market data; AND
(2) Planning, organizing, and coordinating projects or initiatives relating to the municipal securities market.
