Duties

Help
  • Serve as budget analyst with responsibility in performing program planning coordination, execution, and analysis for annual and/or multi-year budgetary programs for Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
  • Prepare/analyze a variety of reports covering the status of funds, expenses and obligations as required by higher headquarters.
  • Analyze budgetary relationships and develop recommendations to accommodate actions under conditions of short and rapidly changing program and budgetary deadlines.
  • Use automated financial systems and computer-generated products in accomplishing budgetary assignments and to ensure the accurate, complete, and timely reporting for Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
  • Performs quality checks of automated system database information and advises program manager of any significant problems.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 2 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a wide variety of administrative and analytical duties related to program/budget planning with the formulation, presentation, execution and review for assigned appropriations; Preparing budget reports for presentation and justification to senior leadership; and utilizing multiple databases and financial accounting systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
