Summary
The VCS Central Office, located at the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO, is conducting a recruitment search for a Retail Allocation/Data Entry Assistant in the Inventory Management and Logistics Division. Manage Product Allocations: Process product allocations, adjust inventory distribution based on store performance and inventory levels, and support special merchandising and planogram initiatives.
Analyze Inventory Trends: Monitor inventory, sales, and markdown trends to identify allocation needs and assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels across stores.
VC 10: Data Entry & Item Management
Maintain Product & Purchase Order Data: Create and update product records, purchase orders, supplier information, pricing, and item details while ensuring data accuracy.
Prepare Reports & Update System Data: Generate standard inventory and sales reports, update system information, and maintain product and vendor data to support purchasing and inventory operations.
Additional Responsibilities & Flexibility: Perform and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.
VC 11: Allocation & Inventory Support
Inventory Analysis: Analyze inventory performance, sales trends, and stock levels to identify variances and recommend inventory adjustments.
Reporting & Data Analysis: Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to support inventory planning and business decisions.
Inventory Allocation: Manage product allocations by evaluating sales, store performance, planogram requirements, and inventory needs to optimize product distribution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Buyers to review business plans, identify inventory risks, and develop data-driven allocation strategies.
VC 11: Data Entry & Item Management
Item & Product Maintenance: Create and maintain accurate product records, including descriptions, UPCs, costs, supplier information, and inventory data.
Purchase Order Management: Enter and validate purchase order information, ensuring accuracy for quantities, pricing, specialty items, and planogram requirements.
Reporting & System Support: Generate and maintain Business Intelligence reports to validate pricing, monitor inventory data, and support business operations.
Supplier & Pricing Administration: Maintain supplier records, process cost and retail price updates, and ensure inventory documentation remains accurate and up to date.
Additional Responsibilities & Flexibility: Perform and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.

Product Allocation Knowledge: Knowledge of inventory management, retail product allocation, purchasing, or supply chain processes.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, solve problems, and make informed business recommendations.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and explain information clearly.
Organization & Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Microsoft Office Proficiency: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including the ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment while managing shifting priorities and business needs.
