Serve as Chief, RTC Safety Office with responsibility for providing leadership, planning, and direction for the environmental and safety programs associated with research, development, test and evaluation technical test missions.
Commander's primary technical authority regarding environmental, safety and occupational health issues for high risk operations.
Oversee multidisciplinary group of professional Aviation, Explosive, Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Specialists in providing safety review and oversight for a wide variety of unusually complex and sensitive test and evaluation projects.
Ensure programs are in compliance with all applicable federal regulations, laws, and directives, as well as all Department of Army standards.
Provide technical guidance in safety environmental requirements, procedures and protocols for all test programs.
Plans and assigns work to be accomplished and sets priorities.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
Position designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
