handles shipments involving nonrecurring origin or destination points, non-consistent route patterns, consolidation to junction points for shipment in smaller lots to different destinations, or remote locations.
Verifies shipper is authorized to ship HAZMAT and has documented proof of such authorization.
Completes inspection checklist for all HAZMAT shipments through the Transportation Division; accepts or rejects based upon regulatory compliance.
Utilizes a variety of Department of the Army (DA)/Department of Defense (DoD) mandated automated systems to accomplish actions necessary to accomplish routing, carrier selection, shipment costs, bill of lading preparation.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Incumbent must obtain and maintain certification of HAZMAT for General Transportation of Hazardous Materials in accordance with 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H (172.704), DOD 4500.9R chapter 204, IATA, and AFMAN 24-204(I) within 12 months.
