Duties

Help
  • Installs, repairs and maintains numerous complex industrial plant equipment, machinery, and special test equipment.
  • Perform modifications on complex industrial equipment and machinery with no established instructions or procedures for repair.
  • Analyzes equipment and machinery malfunctions and performs disassembly and repairs to restore systems to full operational status.
  • Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to maintain maintenance and repair records.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an PRODUCTION MACHINERY MECHANIC without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial plant equipment and machinery. I can perform the installation, alignment, place into operation, and all requirements to keep in operation of complex electronic control and indicating systems, Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) production equipment, electronic components/parts, and electronic test equipment associated with maintenance functions. Perform modifications and repair work on complex industrial equipment and machinery having specific functions with no established instructions or procedures for repair. Submit orders for repair and spare parts as necessary to maintain required inventory stock levels to support prompt repair of equipment. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent handling of objects weighing up to 45 pounds, and may occasionally handle objects weighing over 45 pounds. Incumbent is required to push, pull, reach walk, stand, crouch, kneel, and climb for substantial period of time. Work also involves occasionally working in awkward positions.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed in buildings that are moderately heated and occasionally outside where there is exposure to weather elements. Buildings have concrete floors and there is noise from running machinery. There is possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and burns. Incumbent wears such protective equipment as safety glasses, shoes, and gloves.
