Duties

Help
  • Develop guidelines for all phases of stable operations.
  • Ensure unit budget plans are adequate for the procurement of supplies and equipment.
  • Direct facilities maintenance and upkeep in accordance with all federal, state, installation, and Army policies and regulations.
  • Assist in receiving and reviewing work requests (oral and written).
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in all components of the pasture and training arena, including the horse stables facility, handling, and treatment areas.
  • Manage all aspects of maintenance and upkeep for the horse areas including pastures, hay barn, grain shed, and other similar areas.

  • This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
  • In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role** "Additional Information" for details.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) maintaining and repairing horse facilities; 2) caring for key horse areas such as stalls, tack rooms, pastures, and/or feed storage; 3) managing horse equipment; and 4) overseeing the budget for horse facility operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
