Summary

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
This position requires employee to work a 3rd shift schedule.
Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Machine Tool Operator ~ without more than normal supervision. This includes performing common Machine Tool Operator tasks, such as operating a variety of standard machine tools (e.g., lathes, boring mills, milling machines, and grinding machines), as well as the capability to operate CNC machines in the automatic mode using pre-programmed feeds and speeds, making only minor adjustments for tool and workpiece size differences. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: The work requires standing, stooping, bending, and reaching. The incumbent frequently handles, lifts, and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, the incumbent may be required to lift and move items in excess of 40 pounds, but only with the assistance of coworkers or weight handling devices.
Working Conditions: The work is performed inside well-lighted, adequately heated and ventilated shop area.Shop is usually noisy and dirty and there is constant danger to the skin and eyes from flying metal chips, abrasive articles and hot metal. Subject to skin irritation from contact with coolants, lubricants, and abrasive compounds, and there is constant danger to fingers, hands, and other body parts from cutting tools, grinding wheels, rotating work pieces, etc. Safety glasses are mandatory and safety shoes are necessary.
