Duties

Help
  • Plans and coordinates transportation operations within the ASG-Kuwait.
  • Monitor current and long-range work planning and operational procedures pertaining to transportation operations.
  • Determine if transportation program requirements and objectives are being met in the most efficient and economical manner.
  • Assure proper transportation support is provide through collaboration with other entities.
  • Represent an organization on matters pertaining to all assigned transportation missions.
  • Coordinate the initiation of new services or requirements with customers.

  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • This position is designated as an Emergency Essential (E-E) position in support of mobilization and wartime mission requirements and requires the incumbent to remain in the overseas area and perform duties until relieved by the proper authority.
  • In accordance with USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual-Unit Deployment Policy, MOD-18, incumbent is required to pass a pre-placement medical/dental examination, and receive immunizations (including the anthrax vaccination).
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain an interim Secret clearance and obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance based on the duties and responsibilities identified.
  • Incumbent will be required to work overtime, as well as some holidays and weekends.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Responding to inquiries and providing assistance to various customers, such as commercial carriers, their agents, contractors and component customers/clients; 2) Maintaining data on non-tactical vehicles (NTV) in an automated system; AND 3) Assisting with providing technical guidance on all facets of transportation and non-tactical vehicle management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
  • Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.

  • Relocation or recruitment incentives may be authorized subject to Management's approval up to 100% of the basic salary for 48 months.
  • Domicile to duty transportation will be provided at no cost to employees.
