Duties

Help

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs routine inspections and maintenance on bicycles.
  • Reconditions, adjusts, and tune ODR bicycles and customer bicycles.
  • Replaces broken parts with new parts.
  • Informs Director of part quantities needed for repairs.
  • Disassembles and replaces or repairs mechanical components using appropriate tools.
  • Assists with other routine maintenance on other types of check-0ut equipment
  • Demonstrates proper use of bicycle equipment and instructs others on techniques for safe and proper operation.
  • Assists with ordering replacement parts, resale components, and accessories from outside vendors.
  • Maintains and inventories stock of repair parts and tools; reports inventory to management as needed.
  • Cleans and stores equipment in designated locations and provides instructions to patrons on the use of equipment.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order in the repair and storage area.
  • Provides quotes for repair and maintenance of customer's equipment and services all equipment in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, assisting with Outdoor Recreation activities as needed.

Physical Effort: Must be able to lift and carry objects and various parts and equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Practical knowledge of recreation equipment and its use.
  • Must have skills and knowledge in the repair and maintenance of bicycles and other recreation equipment.
  • Must be able to read and understand service manuals.
  • Must keep current on product models and be familiar with up-to-date equipment, styles, and safety practices.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb, stand, and work in awkward positions.
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry 40 to 60 pounds and satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Must be willing to be exposed to dust, grease, chemical solvents, possible bruises, and cuts/abrasions.
  • Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries/Tier 1 background investigation (NACI/T1).

Education
