Duties

Help
  • Responsible for preparing and tracking customer account receivables.
  • Identifies problems with document flow, e.g. daily activity reports, end of month reports, transfer between activities, etc. Assists in the analysis and evaluation of findings, determining corrective or improvement actions needed.
  • Maintains subsidiary ledgers for accounts receivable, accounts payable, income, expenses, and accruals. Correct, reclassify and verify erroneous situations referring complex errors/problems to the Financial Branch Chief.
  • Assist in the execution and monitoring of annual operating budgets. Provides annual operating budget support by accumulating, processing, compilation and consolidation of financial data.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of required financial annual audit. Provides assistance with formal financial reports.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position, including a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • A successful background investigation submission to the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) must be met no later than 30 calendar days after entry on duty or placement in the position for internal candidates.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability determination.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Possess minimum of 12 months of progressively specialized experience directly related to the duties described above in budget or finance that provided the applicant the knowledge of regulations on budgetary processes and requirements. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  • Possess minimum of 36 months of progressively specialized experience directly related to the duties described above in budget or finance that provided the applicant the knowledge of regulations on budgetary processes and requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, or related discipline.
  • Familiar with budgetary operations within a Non-appropriated Fund agency.
  • Experience working with like systems: eFileRoom, US Bank, Financial Management Budget System (FMBS), Standard Management Information Reports for Finance (SMIRF).

Education

NOTE: Local commuting area is defined as Harford Co, MD and surrounding area within 50-mile radius; in addition to, you are considered eligible if one of the following applies: 1) you live outside of this area and are able to commute to work on a daily/as needed basis, 2) you are able to relocate yourself on your own expenses.

Salary Information:
NF-04 $70,000pa to $80,000pa

PCS Costs
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
