This job opportunity is for an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, position description D2327000, within the 177th MXS of the NJ NG. This VA is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.

The purpose of this position is to serve as a Small Shop Chief with the responsibility for the overall shop. The position oversees and directs work of one or more Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanics, WG-2610-13, who are assigned to the shop. The incumbent performs the full range of non-supervisory work.

This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Duties

Help

As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-14, you will:

  • Performs the full range of WG-2610-13 duties and responsibilities, to include analyzing performance, tests, inspects, troubleshoots, identifies and isolates malfunctions, disassembles, modifies or repairs and reassembles test stations or ECM Pods and their associated peripherals.
  • Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop. Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished.
  • Devises and maintains all program plans and records. Plans, organizes and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision.
  • Determines approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

General Experience:
Must have the following experience(s):

  • Planning, organizing, and directing shop maintenance programs.
  • Estimating manpower and material
  • Articulating recommendations to supervisors in regards to personnel actions.
Specialized Experience:
Must have 24 months of the following experience(s):
  • Inspecting, testing, and modifying manual and automated software-controlled test stations, ECM pods, and/or peripherals.
  • Disassemble, modify or repair and reassemble test stations or ECM pods and their associated peripherals.
  • Analyzing system malfunctions using logic/wiring diagrams, schematics, computer program listings, and factory drawings.
  • Isolating faults to the component level utilizing self-test diagnostics, oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital voltmeters, and special test equipment.
  • Modifying and updating avionics pods, support equipment, and support software in accordance with technical publications.
  • Interfacing testing equipment with test station to facilitate repair of ECM Pod or Line Replaceable Units.
  • Collaborating with engineering personnel to develop/modify software, interfaces, and test equipment, and validating technical maintenance data.
