Duties

Help
  • Responsible for implementation of the Logistics Modernization Program/Manufacturing Execution System and other enterprise systems.
  • Maintain logistics support policies, procedures, and directives which document the methods, techniques, programs, plans and processes required to provide WVA associates with the necessary tools to utilize Logistics Modernization Program (LMP).
  • Assist with process improvement for the implementation of LMP.
  • Assist with evaluation and assessment of personnel role competencies, logistics concepts, programs, and directives pertaining to WVA missions and in identifying required changes or modification of functional business processes.
  • Provide support to managers at WVA to ensure proper coordination and integration.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifications: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Analyzing and evaluating requirements for an enterprise system that supports business processes, information flows, reporting, and/or data analytics in an industrial/manufacturing organization, such as Logistics Modernization Program (LMP); (2) Implementation or sustainment of Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) or other enterprise system; (3) Applying knowledge of supply and/or maintenance operations in order to provide logistical support; and (4) Utilizing automated logistics system(s). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Management, etc.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

If you meet this requirement based on education you MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package or you will be rated ineligible. They do not have to be official transcripts at this time, but official transcripts will be required before starting employment.

  • About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and-operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813. Today it is relied upon by U.S. and foreign militaries to produce the most advanced, high-powered weaponry for cannon, howitzer, and mortar systems. The Arsenal is the only location in the DoD that has a weapons research facility (Benet Laboratories) collocated with a manufacturing facility (Arsenal).
