Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on all components of the irrigation system, including sprinklers, water lines, valves, and electrical-mechanical remote control systems. This includes overhauling parts, cleaning electrical contacts, and replacing faulty components.

  • System Operation: Operates a Toro Osmac irrigation computer to set and adjust watering schedules based on plant and grass needs, which are determined through soil probing and visual inspection.

  • Technical Tasks: Utilizes a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters and voltmeters, to perform duties. Maintains a stock of necessary replacement parts.

  • Driving: Operates a vehicle to travel across the worksite for irrigation tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of six months of experience operating a computerized irrigation system is required, along with experience in automatic irrigation systems.

  • Skills: The role demands knowledge of plumbing, electrical-mechanical controls, hydraulics, automatic valves, and controllers. Completion of a formal trade school course in plumbing or irrigation equipment is also required

Education
