Help

Program Support Assistant Duties include but not limited to:

  • Create and enter data into spreadsheets, pulling reports, filing logs and rosters, organizing and assisting with performance and data collection.
  • Serve as the control point clerk/requestor for the control points and monitors expenditures of program.
  • Review and direct incoming documentation/inquires and take personal action when applicable or direct to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Receives telephone calls for the section and screens visitors to ensure that communications and contacts a appropriate for the staff members of the assigned areas.
  • Produce and update a wide range of documents that may include complex formats such as graphics or tables within text.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:

  • Provides a wide variety of administrative support type duties in such areas as administration, budget, contract support, purchasing, records and file management, and reports.
  • Perform office automation work on personal computer utilizing multiple programs to complete documentation.
  • Provides administrative coordination and entry for modification of clinics.
  • Maintains office equipment and when necessary performs minor repairs or coordinates service of equipment.
  • Serves as the control point clerk/requestor for control points and monitors expenditures of program
Proficiency Requirement-For positions under the Office Automation (OA) subtitle, you must be able to certify that you can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
