Duties

Help
  • SME for all security matters related to SAP and SCI programs.
  • Prepare internal standard operating procedures, annual and AD HOC training briefings.
  • Conduct Annual Self-Inspections (SIs), Core Compliance Inspections (CCIs), and Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) as needed/required/directed.
  • Maintain personnel records for security clearance and access(es). Conduct pre-screening evaluation for clearance and access eligibility.
  • Conduct Informal Inquiries, Formal Inquiries, and/or Investigations into security incidents/violations/loss or suspected loss or compromise of classified information/material
  • Create/maintain records/documents for facility accreditation.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Security Specialist (Government SAP Security Officer), your resume and supporting documentation must support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-03 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Providing oversight and guidance relating to security management of Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs.
  • Conducting annual and AD HOC security training covering the unique responsibilities for personnel accessed to SAP/SCI programs.
  • Determining suitability of personnel for access to classified information.
  • Conducting security inspections (SIs, CCIs, SAVs) to ensure implementation and compliance with established policy.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

  • The selected candidate shall obtain and maintain their SPeD Certifications through CDSE for Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) and Special Programs Security Credential (SPSC) within 3 years of onboarding with DCMA Special Programs. Failure to obtain those certifications can be grounds for termination.
