Duties

Help
  • Operational programs are diverse and complex and for all Services.
  • Formulates and evaluates policies and directives from higher headquarters and advises on action necessary to establish the framework of the organization policies.
  • Identifies and monitors actual or potential issues that require Command decision and recommends a specific course of action that will resolve the issue or correct deficient performance.
  • Provides leadership to office and directorate chiefs in determining priorities to ensure expeditious accomplishment of mission operations.
  • Monitors and evaluates programs and operations to ensure plans are followed to meet objectives and goals.
  • Concentrates attention upon issues, which inhibit the attainment of objectives and provides disposition of those matters not requiring the Commander's attention.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of 25% may be required.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
  • Signing of a DA Form 5019 acknowledging periodic random drug testing requirements is mandatory prior to being placed into this position.
  • In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at assigned proficiency levels.
  • This position is designated Tier 5, Critical or Non-Critical Sensitive, High Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes execution of strategic mission planning in complex environments; leading organizational teams, developing personnel, and successfully mitigating operational risks while enforcing rigorous standards; navigating complex regulatory frameworks and utilizing strong communication to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups; and making high-stakes decisions and delivering successful mission outcomes under intense operational pressure. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
