Help
  • Manage the daily administrative operations of the Executive Office, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Serve as a critical backup for civilian payroll and personnel systems globally, processing time and attendance, performance appraisals, and complex pay-related actions.
  • Control the flow of information by screening incoming mail, independently drafting responses to general inquiries, and reviewing all outgoing correspondence for accuracy and formatting.
  • Research and compile data from various sources to create technical reports, statistical charts, and executive briefing materials using software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Coordinate logistics for high-level meetings and conferences, including preparing background materials, tracking agendas, recording minutes, and managing protocols for senior-level visitors.
  • Arrange comprehensive travel requirements for executive staff, coordinate trip logistics, and process travel vouchers and reports upon completion of travel.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. For GS-07:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting in the coordination of day-to-day administrative operations for an office; 2) Preparing, formatting, and routing correspondence, reports, and meeting materials; 3) Processing standard administrative actions (such as travel orders, time and attendance, or routine personnel requests) using automated systems; and 4) Gathering and assembling data from various databases to support office operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-06.

OR

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business management/administration.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

For GS-08:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Independently managing comprehensive administrative and operational activities for an executive or senior-level office; 2) Advising management and staff on administrative policies, procedures, and systems (e.g., travel, personnel, or payroll operations); 3) Reviewing, consolidating, and composing complex or sensitive reports, briefing materials, and correspondence for senior leadership; and 4) Serving as a primary technical point of contact to troubleshoot and resolve issues within automated administrative systems (e.g., financial, payroll, or personnel databases). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-07.

Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.

GS-07: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

GS-08: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Education
