Duties

Help

This is a developmental position leading to full performance at the GS-12 level. Selections will only be made at the GS-07 level.

As a Human Resources Specialist (HR Development), you will perform the following duties:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for learning and development programs by managing participant registration, assigning courses to NSF staff in the learning management system (LMS), and supporting higher-graded specialists in creating, updating, and conducting learning courses or programs.
  • Support the use of learning management systems (LMS), virtual platforms, and educational technologies by creating and distributing user guides, providing technical support for local access or delivery issues, and responding to general user inquiries.
  • Serve as internal liaison for learning and development communications to increase understanding and utilization of learning and development programs, services, and resources.
  • Provide administrative support for meetings, working groups, and program events, including preparing agendas and capturing meeting notes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade/equivalent.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal government performing administrative or human resources-related work, such as assisting with learning and development activities, document preparation, training preparation, records management, customer service, maintaining data, or performing similar support functions related to learning, training, or employee development
OR Superior Academic Achievement - having earned a Baccalaureate degree with one of the following: graduated in the upper one-third of your graduating class; and earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript, or based on courses completed during your final 2 years
OR At least one full year of graduate-level education;
OR A combination of post-high-school education and experience that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.

Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Education may be substituted for experience as described in "Qualifications." If qualifying based on education, you must submit TRANSCRIPTS (unofficial copies are acceptable) or a DIPLOMA that verifies that the requirement is met.
