Install, operate, maintain, repair, and sustain in an operational status, a variety of target systems and components of systems.
Operate computer-controlled target systems console and execute scenario sequences for operations.
Operate and perform maintenance (to include operator level troubleshooting and making authorized repair/ replacements) on AC/DC powered target devices.
Conduct operator level maintenance on Stationary Infantry Targets, Moving Infantry Targets, Stationary Armor Targets, and Moving Armor Targets.
Operate and maintain vehicle(s) assigned to the organization.
Cut grass, clean target pits, reshape target berms, service batteries, service target devices, and remove debris from training ranges.
Perform basic carpentry work as required.
Perform inspecting, cleaning, servicing, preserving, lubricating, adjusting, troubleshooting, testing duties; and making authorized repair/ replacements.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
This position will require the incumbent to enroll in the Lead Abatement Program which will require annual medical screening.

Incumbent must wear respiratory protection (wear of respirators). When wearing tight-fitting respirators, facial hair must be removed in order to facilitate a proper seal.

Working Conditions: Works primarily outside, in dirt, dust and mud. Is sometimes required to make repairs and installations outside in windy or cold weather. Is occasionally exposed to possibility of broken bones, electrical shock and burns.
