Help
  • Review purchases to find and track new BPAs, receipts, and MROs.
  • Receiving, reviewing and processing all documents into an inventory database.
  • Prepares and submits daily/weekly/monthly reports concerning all transactions processed for production materials, MROs, waste shipments, etc
  • Distributes work through the inventory database to the Material Handlers and PPW employees.
  • Create barcodes and LPNs for production materials (i.e. paper, passport, and secure credentials).
  • Schedule secure and non-secure shipments.
  • Facilitate WIP counts and reconciliation.
  • Review and process purchase and invoice requests.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Inventory Management Specialist, PG -2010-12, you must meet the following requirements:

To minimally qualify for the PG-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience at the PG-11 (or equivalent) level or higher. Examples of qualifying experience for the PG-12 level may include, but are not limited to,
1) Review purchases to find and track new BPAs, receipts, and MROs.
2) Manage the annual financial audits.
3) Conduct weekly inventories of the secure credentials, passport material, and general materials.
4)Receive, review and process all documents into an inventory database.
5)Distribute work through the inventory database to employees.
6) Conduct on the job training to lower grade employees.
7) Schedule secure and non-secure shipments.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement(07/28/2026) to be considered.

Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Work Life Balance:

Background Investigation:

For a Secret Clearance:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a Secret clearance. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully completed a background investigation for a Secret clearance. This review could include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs; this security process may take between 6 weeks to 12 months.

GPO will conduct an interim security clearance, pending the completion of the full investigative requirements for the final Secret clearance. The interim security clearance will be granted based on the favorable completion of preliminary checks that are accomplished as part of the security clearance process. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer if the candidate is unable to obtain an interim clearance.

Schedule A (Disability Appointment):
Documentation of eligibility for employment under Schedule A can be obtained from a licensed medical professional (e.g., a physician or other medical professional certified by a state, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory to practice medicine); a licensed vocational rehabilitation specialist (i.e., state or private); or any Federal agency, state agency, or agency of the District of Columbia or a U.S. territory that issues or provides disability benefits. The letter must be printed on a "medical professional's" letterhead and signed.
