You will respond to all traffic accidents; thoroughly investigate, supervise the accident scene and/or direct all events at the scene of an accident.
You will review statements taken, interview witnesses, interrogate suspects and reconstruct the scene of an accident.
You will coordinate base traffic surveys of suspect or traffic problem areas and monitor them to maintain statistics on accidents for traffic enforcement/control programs.
You will conduct radar system detection to enforce speed limits and sobriety checkpoints to identify and deter drinking and driving violations.
You will ensure that photos and proper measurements are taken at accident scenes to reconstruct the events of the accident.
You will perform traffic law enforcement using radar and Breathalyzer; conduct investigative stops, questions, detains and issues traffic citations.
You will perform motorized, walking or bike patrols of the installation; respond to and investigate complaints while enforcing federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DOD, Naval and Marine Corps regulations.
Must successfully complete a designated USMC Basic Police Officers Course and meet all certification requirements, to include weapons certifications, CPR, AED, DoD and Joint Training Regulations.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Overtime way be required.
