Duties

Help
  • Annually supervise AIP Performance Reviews and/or Improper Payment Reviews to ensure task completion, identify process improvement opportunities, and ensure adherence to RMA procedures.
  • Supervise national and regional data mining initiatives and projects to identify, prevent, and collect potential improper program payments (or program vulnerabilities) to ensure continued program integrity.
  • Direct the development of long and short-range plans of operations; determine manpower and equipment resource needs to ensure that reviews are performed on all Reinsured Companies.
  • Assign employees to investigative review teams, and provide advice, counsel and instructions in all matters pertaining to both technical and administrative matters.
  • Make recommendations to establish or revise corporate policy to mitigate identified vulnerabilities. Work with appropriate organizational units in developing and implementing those policies.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include, but are limited to, the following: plan, direct, coordinate and supervise work activities of assigned staff.

  • This position is designated as mobile work. Mobile work is a condition of employment and is characterized by routine and regular travel to conduct work in customer or other worksites as opposed to a single authorized alternative worksite.

Specialized Experience Requirement

For the GS-13 grade level: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in federal service or comparable experience not gained through federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:

  • Implementing, managing, and coordinating a compliance program;
  • Independently performing complex investigative assignments for agricultural insurance or reinsurance programs AND
  • Planning, conducting, and reporting on compliance reviews and investigations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade Requirement: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. You must meet this requirement by the closing date of this announcement.
