Duties

Help
  • Conduct broad surveys and studies to determine the effectiveness of regional HR programs.
  • Interpret Human Resources legislative guidance to prepare recommendations for management.
  • Conduct field visits to gather information for the development of HR projects.
  • Respond to official inquiries (such as: Inspector General IG) complaints or Congressional Inquiries) to ensure such inquiries are addressed.
  • Conduct personnel briefings or trainings to provide technical advice regarding Human Resource Programs.
  • Develop administrative policies related to civilian workers compensation program.
  • Respond to official inquiries to ensure they are addressed.
  • Serve as a member of survey teams to evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Gathering data for the development and implementation of agency specific Human Resources policies; 2) Assisting in evaluating effectiveness of Human Resources practices and program areas; 3) Providing support in responding to formal customer inquiries along with Inspector General and Congressional Human Resources inquiries; AND 4) Participating in planning and/or with preparation of Human Resources conferences and meetings for serviced functions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
