Help
  • Performs writing, editing, review, and pre-press publishing tasks required for the preparation of technical reports, research proposals, program documentation, and management support documents.
  • Coordinates with authors and other subject-matter experts to propose and write substantive revisions to improve the clarity, sequence, or scope of presentation.
  • Supports the Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) project delivery team (PDT) work conducted by the St. Louis District Corps of Engineers, as well as FUDS projects in other USACE Districts.
  • Ensures that information and data presented directly support both the objectives of the document and the author's conclusions.
  • Writes, rewrites, and/or extensively edits technical information furnished by project delivery team members in the form of rough drafts, research notes, literature surveys, transcripts, etc.
  • Provides advice and guidance as required to all technical, administrative, and management personnel on all matters related to writing, document preparation, publishing, and technology transfer.
  • Makes decisions pertaining to design, typography, organizational formats, mechanical style, and literary style where no clear precedent exists.
  • Liaises with important contacts such as Office of Counsel and Real Estate personnel, technical subject matter experts, management, representatives of the Environmental and Munitions Center of Expertise (EMCX), headquarters, and external partners.

Minimum Qualifications NH-03:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing and/or summarizing facts from gathered historical information; developing and/or editing content for accuracy and/or quality; and writing environmental technical documents and/or reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
