Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled Senior Engineer with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of research and development principles. You are an expert problem-solver, capable of tackling complex technical challenges independently and delivering cutting-edge solutions for advanced space systems. As a key technical contributor, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at translating mission goals into engineering realities. You are a self-motivated professional with excellent communication skills, dedicated to advancing critical national security space projects and able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Mastery of a wide range of advanced multi-disciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, standards, methods, and techniques to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods.
2. Expert knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, and organizational structure of the DoD, Air Force, and the U.S. Space Force to ensure the technical integrity and horizontal integration of complex space systems acquisitions.
3. Skill in evaluating state-of-the-art advancements in technology and poly to provide authoritative technical direction and oversee critical aspects of development, production, and support of major systems.
4. Ability to serve as a senior technical authority and consultant, providing expert advice to agency leadership on matters of exceptional importance, including the continuation or redirection of major programs.
5. Skill in establishing effective relationships, building consensus, and resolving highly controversial technical conflicts with a variety of internal and external organizations, including DoD leadership and industry partners.
6. ability to expertly communicate complex engineering and programmatic information, both orally and in writing, to defend technical positions and advise senior executive leadership.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • This position is designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
  • The incumbent is required to acquire and maintain appropriate cert(s)
  • This is a designated position for drug testing (TDP). The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use, IAW AFI 90-508.
  • The employee is required to submit an initial and annual SF-450 (Financial Disclosure).
  • Employee must obtain Information Assurance Management (IAM) levels III certification, as described in DoD8570.01M within 12months.
  • Employee must meet or be capable to meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement requirements applicable to position.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 15 days a year.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.

  • This is a Centrally Managed Position, relocation is authorized.
