This vacancy is open to all groups of individuals within the civil service (current Federal civil service employees, SES reinstatement eligible applicants, and SESCDP graduates).
As an Assistant Inspector General for Management, you will:
Direct the work of an organizational unit and manage all of the Office of the Inspector General's (OIG) general, technical, and administrative support activities, in accordance with laws and regulations and the policies and priorities of the Inspector General.
Monitor progress toward organizational goals and periodically evaluate and make appropriate adjustments to such goals.
Oversee and supervise the work of the budget staff in the formulation, presentation, and execution of the OIG budget.
Oversee the planning, preparation, and finalization of the overall OIG strategic plan, ensuring that input from other OIG offices is coordinated and integrated into the final document.
Develop policy and oversee planning for future facility needs and manage ongoing facilities maintenance and upgrading. Ensure maintenance of high standards of customer service in all program areas.
Complete an Executive Branch Personnel Public Financial Disclosure Report annually.
Undergo appropriate tax checks.

Mandatory Technical Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required for the incumbent to perform the duties of the position. You must demonstrate all of the MTQs to be rated as eligible for this position.
MTQ 1: Demonstrated experience leading one or more comprehensive administrative programs for a large organization, covering program areas such as budget and finance; acquisition; human resources; information technology; personnel & information security; facilities management; travel; and strategic planning. MTQ 2: Demonstrated experience leveraging complex data to improve programs and operations of a large organization and making evidence-based decisions in support of goals and performance metrics for administrative programs.
EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (ECQs):
The ECQs describe the leadership skills needed to succeed in the SES and provide the focus for OPM certification of executive qualifications.
There are five ECQs:
ECQ 1: Commitment to the Rule of Law and the Principles of the American Founding - This core qualification requires a demonstrated knowledge of the American system of government, commitment to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, and commitment to serve the American people.
ECQ 2: Driving Efficiency - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to strategically and efficiently manage resources, budget effectively, cut wasteful spending, and pursue efficiency through process and technological upgrades.
ECQ 3: Merit and Competence - This core qualification involves the demonstrated knowledge, ability and technical competence to effectively and reliably produce work that is of exceptional quality.
ECQ 4: Leading People - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a group toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals, and to drive a high-performance, high-accountability culture. This includes, when necessary, the ability to lead people through change and to hold individuals accountable.
ECQ 5: Achieving Results - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to achieve both individual and organizational results, and to align results to stated goals from superiors.
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Initial Review:

Qualification Assessment:
