Duties

Help
  • Determine usage rates for ammunition operations programs.
  • Utilize automated systems to monitor supplies, materials, government furnished materials, stock levels, usage, and shelf life.
  • Conduct inventory on ammunition operations facilities.
  • Assist supply specialist in creating bills of material for all ammunition operation programs.
  • Review statements of work and other technical data to ensure proper material usage.

  • This position is a Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing.
  • The position requires completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, you are required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • TDY travel may occasionally be required.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties and occasionally items exceeding 40 pounds and up to 100 pounds utilizing a two person lift.
  • Work requires sitting, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, stooping, and long periods of standing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes
  • Research files or electronic supply databases to identify errors
  • Track usage of materials in electronic databases
  • Perform cost analysis to ensure accurate charges on material orders; and/or
  • Review Standard Operating Procedures to make change recommendations

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Applied Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, or Industrial Management.

OR

Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. Superior Academic Achievement is based on:(1) Class Standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR(2) Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.) - Applicants must have a grade-point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.; OR(3) Honor Society Membership - Applicants may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the approved national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies (https://www.achshonor.org/).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.


PHYSICAL DEMAND
Work involves lifting, carrying and handling of moderately heavy objects weighing 25 to 40 pounds and occasionally items exceeding 40 pounds and up to 100 pounds. All lifts over 50 pounds will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling lifting device. The two person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts. Work requires sitting, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, stooping, and long periods of standing.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in both an office setting and in a production environment. Visits to the production areas require the use of safety protective equipment.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
