Help

The Supervisory Management and Program Analyst is a recognized expert within FAA and is called upon to provide leadership for highly complex and challenging activities. The work of this position includes a mixture of routine and complex projects/programs based on the objectives of the major subdivision/line of business/staff offices. The Supervisor directs the work of subordinate employees for one organizational unit within ARA-100.

Work usually includes routine project/program tasks based on established plans and program objectives. Supervisory duties include setting priorities; assigning tasks; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; approving leave and travel; and recommending corrective/disciplinary action, as appropriate.

Conducts analysis of the program to identify areas that require improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the program operations. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, a detailed knowledge of budget, human resource, and other administrative policies and procedures, and a detailed understanding of the objectives of the organizational unit.

Contacts are primarily within the organizational unit/major subdivision with subordinates, peers, and higher-level managers to discuss the status of projects/programs and to share information. May also have frequent contact with customers to explain policies, procedures or for other project/program purposes.

Established guidelines, policies, procedures and organizational objectives typically govern work assignments and leaves room for the Supervisor's discretion. The Supervisor resolves problems without the intervention of higher-level management. Also consults with higher-level management if unique problems arises. Regularly called upon to identify problem areas and to develop and recommend new policies, procedures and processes for resolution.

May be called upon to represent FAA as an authority on STEM AVSED projects and programs.

Requires extra flexibility and collaboration as part of a multi-functional virtual organization with staff nationwide.

Individual and the ARA-100 team performance is reviewed periodically by higher-level management, often through status reports and organizational performance measures, to ensure timeliness, policy compliance, and alignment with project/program objectives. The work activities directly impact on the objectives of the organizational unit and may affect the organizational unit's internal and external customers.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS: 

Experience in the development and implementation of business and strategic plans related to aviation workforce or agency outreach initiatives.  

OR;

Experience in overseeing the development, continual improvement and implementation of high-visibility national level
programs. 

OR;

Experience working and providing leadership amongst peers to help advance a program's mission.
