Duties

Help

The purpose of this position is to supervise NAF employees that perform work in the operations of maintenance, motor vehicle, linen exchange, and logistics for lodging operations with 800 or more rooms/units. Writes, coordinates and submits AF Form 332 Base Civil Engineer Work Request, and tracks work orders to completion. Ensures safety inspections are current to include facility fire extinguisher, preventative maintenance, OSHA, and other inspections are maintained and documented. Inspects lodging facilities, rooms, common areas, grounds, equipment and tools to ensure proper maintenance and repairs are accomplished and/or to identify minor plumbing and electrical discrepancies sanitation problems or deteriorated paint surfaces. Ensures routine inspection and minor maintenance are performed on lodging vehicles. Establishes and maintains minimum stock levels of all expendable supplies and amenities to assure adequate inventory of items to prevent work stoppage. Establishes and maintains the appropriate security of high value items subject to pilferage. Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates and evaluates their work performance. Planning, scheduling and coordinating work operations solving problems related to the work supervised. Determining equipment and supplies needed and explaining and gaining the support of subordinates for management policy and goals. Inspects completed work for quality and completeness. Provides initial and recurring training for all employees.

Qualifying Experience:

Progressively responsible experience in a military or civilian lodging program, which provided knowledge of supervising other personnel. Must be familiar with supply and vehicle maintenance. Supervision experience should be at a sufficient level to ensure knowledge of how and why tasks are performed and to ensure work is performed efficiently and effectively. Have experience, which demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both orally and in writing and the ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups to accomplish work/tasks.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
