As an Archives Specialist, you will:

  • Develop detailed plans, studies, proposals for records storage and office area layout, and general requirements, of a non-professional nature, in connection with MPR's space management projects.
  • Review and monitor the progress of all reimbursable work authorizations. Coordinate with GSA, Public Buildings Service (PBS), on the status of work requests, costs, and completion dates.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and continuing analysis of the NPRC (MPR) building security system.
  • Schedule and coordinate work, direct use of subordinate, and is accountable for the effectiveness and accomplishments of supervised operations.

  • Incumbent must be physically able to perform the duties of this position. Some of the physical requirements are: climbing caster-equipped ladders and handling thereon boxes of records weighing up to 50 pounds that are stored up to 14 feet above the floor; considerable standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-11: You must have at least one year of experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Skilled in time-phased project implementation, cost estimates, and maintaining progress on complex work assignments. AND
  • Developing long-range space plans and coordinating studies to forecast future operational needs AND
  • Proficient in financial oversight, such as managing reimbursable work authorizations, developing operating cost data, and preparing budget justifications
OR
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related
OR
  • Combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet qualifications requirements. Total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for this grade level. (The first 36 semester hours of graduate study can not be used to qualify with a combination)

Note: All graduate education must be in a related field of the position to be filled.


In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following requirements, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
Time-in-Grade: For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
