Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

Moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
Must be able to obtain certification in Medical Gas within 1 year.
Must obtain a valid forklift license within 1 year.
Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): I have the ability to do the work of Maintenance Worker Helper without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common maintenance helper duties assisting carpenters, plumbers, electricians and painters perform tasks of the trade. I can maintain interior electrical systems and plumbing, utilize basic shop mathematics to assist in repairs, paint surfaces, clean mechanical rooms and operate vehicles, equipment and tools. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Employee works in shops and at job sites. Strenuous physical exertion is often required. Employee may lift and move materials up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally lifts or moves heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers. Employee is required to stand, stoop, and bend. Work is frequently done from ladders, scaffolding and platforms.
Working Conditions: Employee is exposed to moderate or high noise levels, sawdust, glue fumes, and other hazards associated with woodworking and related power equipment when performing work in the shop area. Work at job sites exposes employee to weather conditions and the hazards of working on and around scaffolds and ladders. Employee is subject to cuts, bruises and contusions. May be required to work in confined areas such as crawl spaces and attics, which may be dusty and dirty. Protective devices, such as, but not limited to, ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, hard hat and steel toes safety shoes are required.
