Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
The incumbent serves as a Project Manager for the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC), under the direction of the OLDCC Director, coordinating technical and financial assistance on behalf of Defense-impacted areas as they seek to respond to impacts arising from local Department of War (DoW) activity.
Evaluates local capacities and constraints to plan and carry out adjustment strategies, grant scopes of work, and project goals, including compliance with Federal laws and regulations and OLDCC policies, while advocating for a program of assistance to ensure the local community may speak with one voice in encountering local economic impacts, develop consensus strategies, and carry out sustainable plans.
Serves as the senior subject matter expert in OLDCC providing guidance and direction to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and policies regarding the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Plans, organizes, leads, and represents OLDCC and the DoW at conferences, meetings, working groups, and field visits at the local, state, and Federal levels, to include leadership and staff at local installations.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to 1) Managing project and grant activities to alleviate economic impacts; 2) Providing guidance on compliance with environmental laws and policies pertaining to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); and 3) Conducting briefings and presentations in support of mission goals.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
