This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEM MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1367000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.

Primary purpose is to perform on- and/or off-equipment maintenance on assigned aircraft pneudraulic systems, components and related aerospace ground equipment.

Duties

Help

Performs maintenance and operational and functional checks on assigned pneudraulic systems. Troubleshoots, removes, inspects, installs, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, and/or tests pneudraulic systems and components for aircraft pneudraulic systems, associated ground support equipment, and/or related test equipment. Performs installation, modification, and/or repair of aircraft pneudraulic systems. Determines proper maintenance and repair procedures and minimum requirements pertaining to parts, clearance and tolerances, and performance characteristics of pneudraulic systems and related aerospace ground equipment. Performs organizational and field level maintenance to include periodic, phase time, calendar, unscheduled, and special inspection. Provides technical assistance to other shops concerning complicated interaction malfunctions between other systems, subsystems, and components. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must hold the grade of E-3 thru E-5.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-4 thru E-6

1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles.
2. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines.
3. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
4. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts.
5. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies.
6. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
7. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment.
8. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.

8. Current COANG Technicians and AGRs hired for a position in which an MCR is required will remain in their current status unless/until the MCR is approved. In the event the MCR is not approved, they are accepting the position in their current status.
