Duties

Help
  • Manages the planning and development of conferences, itineraries compatible with the scope of visits (both national and international) to include social events, hosts, ceremonies, briefings, transportation, billeting, and escort officers.
  • Coordinates and reviews all final arrangements to maximize the success of visits.
  • Coordinates and executes protocol support for senior level conferences, and installation events annually.
  • Provides protocol support to ceremonies and other civic activities that enhance the prestige of the military as well as enhance the morale and patriotism of soldiers and the civilian community.
  • Research literature and coordinates with the Department of Army Protocol and Institute of Heraldry to ascertain the most appropriate answer to questions where there is no clear guidance nor precedent.
  • Serves as the Commander’s Action Group budget officer.

  • This position requires occasional TDY travel (5%).
  • This position requires unusual hours (may work nights and/or weekends).
  • This position requires incumbent to have and maintain driver's license.
  • Position is designated Special Sensitive; therefore, the employee must be able to obtain and retain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a Tier 5 investigation with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This position is a testing designated position (TDP) in accordance with (IAW) Drug Free Federal Workplace Program.
  • The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the DA, Drug Free Federal Workplace Program.
  • As a precondition and continuing condition of employment, the incumbent of this position must agree to submit urinalysis testing on a recurring basis.
  • In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level:
  • 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) Interpreting protocol guidance to establish goals and objectives that meet future objectives of the DoD, Army, CCOE at Fort Gordon, 2) Orchestrating visits for various dignitaries and various government personnel to ensure international rules, procedures, traditions, formal diplomatic customs, courtesies, and etiquette are followed 3) Executing policy and procedures to issue guidance through established priorities and 4) Maintaining records for expenditures to provide guidance of financial regulations, policies and written directives.

  • If you are a current federal career/career-conditional employee, you will be placed on an excepted appointment.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

  • This position requires a 3 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.   • Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program dated 15 February 2023..
