Duties

Help

  • Provide advice on internal policies and procedures affecting general administrative functions in the areas of human resources, time and attendance, travel, facilities management, property management, space/logistics, safety and security.
  • Identify the need for new processes, procedures, etc. and incorporate into annual plans.
  • Plan, develop, formulate, prepare, execute, monitor, and/or forecast organizational budgets.
  • Formulate organizational strategies and communicate annual plans and updates to team members as appropriate.
  • Advise on applicable laws and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Analyze desired program plans and procedures against alternatives to develop possible approaches to achieving program objectives.
  • Present oral and written information clearly and concisely to senior leadership

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-7 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1) Gathering and compiling financial and administrative data or information; and 2) Preparing documents related to budget and financial management; purchasing, procurement and contract administration, travel, facilities, property, safety, or space management; or human resource management;
OR
Completion of 1 full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the position;
OR
Superior academic achievement based on a) graduating within the upper third of the graduating class in a college, university, or major subdivision such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; b) having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; c) being elected for membership in a national scholastic honor society; OR A combination of post baccalaureate education related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

You qualify at the GS-9 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Analyzing routine expenditures and spending plans; drafting specifications for use in contracts; conducting routine cost comparisons and estimates; assisting in performing general administration and advisory services including procurement, human resources services, travel, facilities and space management, and property management;
OR
Completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related;
OR
A combination of post baccalaureate education related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

A. completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related;
OR
B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1) Participating in the preparation and execution of organizational budgets; 2) Reconciling monthly expenditures against allocated funding; 3) Drafting specifications and statements of work for service contracts and equipment leases, including conducting negotiations with vendors; 4) Assisting in performing general administration and advisory services and/or functions, such as time and attendance, human resources services, travel, facilities management, property management, and space/logistics, safety/security;
OR
C. a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
