Duties

Help
  • Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and common areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using brooms, mops, lightweight equipment such as vacuum cleaners and lightweight floor scrubbers, waxers, and buffers.
  • Dusts waxes and polishes furniture and fixtures. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes bathroom and toilet facilities.
  • Empties trash. Make beds and changes linen. Washes mirrors, walls, windows, and blinds. Provides and replenishes toiletries and room condiments.
  • Notes condition of room and report any conditions requiring maintenance or repair.
  • Maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies and condiments to perform assigned duties.

Qualifications

  1. Must be able to follow simple oral instructions.
  2. Must be able to use hand or light weight powered cleaning tools and equipment as described which generally require no prior training or previous work experience.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
