Duties

Help

This position serves as a supervisor under OCIO and is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, projects, policies, and procedures related to the development and maintenance of IT Systems.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Executive Office for United States Attorneys, located in Columbia, South Carolina; Washington, District of Columbia, focusing on leading enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, modernization, governance, cybersecurity, and service delivery for the nationwide U.S. Attorney's Office technology environment.

Typical work assignments will include:

  • Supervising, assigning and monitoring work projects, sets goals and priorities, and approves schedules for completion of projects assigned by senior staff.
  • Integrating program operations and initiatives with other functional areas, organizations, and programs to address critical mission requirements.
  • Designing and deploying enterprise IT infrastructure and solutions for the USAO community.
  • Determining technical requirements when ordering hardware and software from centralized staff contracts, and from task order contracts.
  • Preparing solicitations and other procurement documents that describe equipment/services requirements to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required nine (9) competencies AND specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must possess:

AND

Specialized Experience:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (4) of the (5) duties listed below:

  • Supervising and/or leading project teams and managing large-scale IT projects, including setting priorities and monitoring progress;
  • Integrating IT program operations with other organizations and mission requirements and representing the organization in cross-functional initiatives;
  • Analyzing organizational and site-specific IT requirements and implementing IT infrastructure solutions;
  • Managing IT resources, contracts, and procurements and determining technical requirements for IT systems and services; and/or
  • Preparing requirements and procurement documents and managing acquisitions in support of mission needs.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level.
  • You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
