Duties

Help

Implements, maintains and oversees operation of automated management information systems (Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS), Deferred Payment Plan (DPP) and Mini and Personal Computer Operations, Etc.). Responsible for analyzing management information systems and recommending equipment and procedural changes to be initiated on a continuing basis. Identifies and recommends improvements to procedures, forms and workflows. Resolves equipment problems by working on the equipment, identifying problem areas and initiating corrective/preventive action when abnormal situations arise. Works with managers and project teams in the implementation of new systems and procedures. Trains end user staff to use MIS resources. May serve as Local Area Network (LAN) Information System Coordinator and local DPP Program Manager.

Plan, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget. Monitors programs on a regular basis, and initiates corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS. Manages new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements. Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives, and exercises internal personnel management authorities as delegated by the higher-level supervisor with regard to subordinate supervisors and employees in the office. Directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors supervises employees. Counsels and trains employees, schedules and directs work, appraises work performance. Approves or disapproves leave, and personnel actions. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Due to the nature of work in this position, the incumbent may serve in an "on call" duty status outside of normal work hours that includes: remaining in a reasonable call back radius, carrying a cell phone or pager, or regularly checking email to respond to emergencies; remaining in a state of readiness to perform work with limitations on pursuing outside leisure activities, and/or reporting to a designated post of duty to be ready to or to perform work.

May be required to travel for temporary duty assignment.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

A minimum of four years' experience, which demonstrates extensive knowledge of a variety of computer systems to include EPOS and personal computers. Skill to diagnose the nature and sources of problems involving equipment, programs, or systems and to define the results of such analysis. Knowledge of retail merchandise and inventory management practices, theories, techniques, methodology of management and store operations preferred. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to supervise employees. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

As an authorized and privileged user of Department of Defense Information Systems must possess or receive Information Assurance awareness by completing the Security+ Certification as a condition of access within six months of employment, and thereafter must complete annual Information Assurance awareness training.
