Summary

About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned & operated manufacturing center located in NY.
Plans and takes action to ensure accomplishment of work and furnishes opinions, advice, guidance, interpretations and decisions on administrative and specialized supply problems.
Submits budget estimates and other related material, and initiates supply actions on the basis of approved forecast of needs.
Develop local logistics policies, procedures and techniques to expedite operation and increase effectiveness.
Oversees all inventory management functions inclusive of physical counts, inventory reconciliation, tracking and reporting results and trends for the division chief.
Analyzes inventory discrepancies and advises supervision on corrective actions.
Monitor and report on the status and progress of work to ensure deadlines and quality have been met.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must meet all requirements for Data Analytics 2 Compiler Certification within 24 months of being placed in the position.
Must use safety equipment such as ear devices, hard hats, hard-toe shoes, gloves, and protective clothing.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience required for GS-11: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: 1) Monitoring inventory to ensure compliance with established policy or procedures; 2) Use automated supply systems to maintain inventory records for the organization; 3) Participate in planning for all phases of supply operations to include receipt, storage, issue, stock records maintenance, or inventory management operation is in line with established regulations or policies; 4)
performs statistical analysis and/or studies to evaluate program effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or another related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
