Duties

Help
  • Coordinate closely with Department leadership to manage, execute, and monitor the various gift-funded margin of excellence programs within the organization.
  • Direct budgetary and administrative compliance for these initiatives by aligning resources, securing necessary United States Military Academy (USMA) approvals, and tracking expenditures.
  • Guide strategic donor relations and stewardship efforts in partnership with the Association of Graduates and key program leads.
  • Advise and support program leads on administrative requirements for departmental activities, including conferences, guest speakers, and cadet/faculty travel.
  • Oversee collaboration with external partners and agencies to deploy funding across co-curricular, extracurricular, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Instruct students in area of expertise within the Department's academic programs.
  • You will support the personal growth and professional development of cadets in and out of the classroom as a role model for future leaders of the Nation.

This is a full-time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 3 years.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Applicants will be evaluated on the following:

1) Academic Accomplishment (Master's Degree is preferred) in Political Science, Public Policy, and Sociology or a closely related field.
2) Demonstrated ability to lead, synchronize, and execute multiple complex programs and diverse lines of effort to achieve organizational goals.
3) Ability to communicate organizational goals clearly, assign work effectively, and provide technical and administrative guidance to staff and peer colleagues.
4) Demonstrated capacity and proven ability to plan, develop, allocate, monitor, and execute operational budgets supported by private donations, philanthropic grants, corporate sponsorships, donor funding, or non-governmental sources.
5) Ability to direct and execute comprehensive co-curricular and extracurricular programs, as well as experiential learning initiatives.

Situational telework is approved on a case-by-case basis, where the hours worked were not part of a previously approved, ongoing, and regular telework schedule. Situational telework is sometimes also referred to as episodic, intermittent, unscheduled, or ad-hoc telework.
