The duties and responsibilities for a IT Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN) GS-2210-13 generally include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Identifies and resolves recurring incidents, ensuring system performance.
  2. Oversees the evaluation and deployment of system patches and upgrades.
  3. Develops standards and criteria for assessing system performance.
  4. Performs system maintenance to support mission-essential operations.
  5. Plans customer support services to meet mission-essential needs.

  • You must be a current permanent Department of Justice employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.
  • You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement.

  • This position requires the candidate to be able to hold a security clearance at the Top Secret security level.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of IT Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN), at GS-2210-13, you must meet the qualification requirements listed below.

Basic Qualifications (2210 series): Please refer to the OPM IT Management Series 2210 Qualification Standard for the specific experience requirements for the GS-12 and above positions.

AND

Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-13 grade level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable non-Federal experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the following duties:

  1. Provides IT systems administration, customer support, service desk, and information security support.
  2. Plans and coordinates the installation, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by 07/08/2026 of this announcement.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Once the announcement closes, a review of your resume and supporting documentation will be conducted by the HR Specialist.
