You will serve as the Lead Telecommunications Specialist in the Base Communications Office (BCO) Ventura Division, Policy-Plans-Project Department (N5) at NAVAL COMPUTER AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS STATION (NAVCOMTELSTA).
You will perform database and programming functions to systems software and hardware upgrades, facility upgrades, option features, trunking, systems configuration, and traffic studies.
You will perform database and programming functions to carriers, multiplexers, fiber optic transport systems, and remote digital PBX’s.
You will dispatch service calls, trouble calls and work request to communication specialist, cable splicers, repairman, electronic technicians, and commercial telephone company personnel.
You will perform service desk functions, which include; receiving and record keeping of all work request, service calls, trouble calls and/or work requests.
You will provide leadership to a group of seven to ten operational personnel.
You will task, identify and distribute work assignments, monitor training, set goals and objectives, and provide technical direction.
You will evaluate work performance to include work methods and procedures for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
You will advise engineering on configuration designs to main switch, system features available, system capabilities, and status of cable pairs.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
