Duties

Help
  • Sets Space and Missile Defense CRD project priorities in coordination with and/or within the general guidance of the FCD Director.
  • Coordinates with other Centers of Excellence (CoEs)/FCDs, US Army Transformation and Training Command(T2COM), Army Futures Command (AFC) , Combined Arms Command (CAC), US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC),Department of the Army (DA).
  • Reviews manpower, budget and expenditure proposals, provides guidance/direction to the FCD Director.
  • Assigns work related to space and missile defense product development to the CRD branches.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Leading multidisciplinary teams through the complex Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process to develop, coordinate, and secure validation for critical Army and Joint space, missile defense, and high-altitude requirements documents; 2) Chairing high-level Integrated Concept Teams in order to synchronizing diverse stakeholders across Army Futures Command, the Joint Staff, and multinational partners to resolve conflicting priorities and build consensus on modernization capabilities; 3)
Designing/executing complex Joint, Inter-agency, and Multinational (JIM) wargames and operational experiments to validate emerging concepts, assess critical capability gaps, and inform strategic acquisition decisions; 4) Advising senior leadership on system acquisition, technology maturation, and DOTMLPF-P resource prioritization for cutting-edge space and missile defense portfolios to align with long-term modernization objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03/GS-13).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
