Duties

Help
  • You will act as the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  • You will be responsible for managing all Cybersecurity (CS) requirements.
  • You will be responsible for the coordination, management, and security oversight of system integration, software configuration management, and security liaison.
  • You will prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems and associated data.

  • Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. This position is subject to random testing.
  • This position may require 5% travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. Requires evening and weekend work.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722, proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Examples of Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

1- Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Mitigate network and application specific security problems through Incident handling Methods to ensure security levels and reporting are within required guidelines.
2- Customer Service- Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Coordinate with Host Based Security System (HBSS) Administrator, program managers and Information System Security Managers (ISSM) to apply proper security system module policies to security managed assets.
3- Oral Communication- Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Brief managers on the condition of an organization's information technology (IT) security program.
4- Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as experience planning, designing and implementing infrastructure security to include all required certification and accreditation policies and practices in an Information System environment; experience supporting the protection of the confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, and availability of systems, networks, and data through planning, analysis, development, penetration testing, access control, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information security systems, programs, policies, procedures, and tools experience managing security equities (e.g., strategic, personnel, infrastructure, policy enforcement, emergency planning, and other resources) for a program or other area of responsibility; and experience planning, developing and/or managing processes across the information systems/services life cycle to ensure Information Technology capabilities meet current, future, organizational and enterprise mission.

In addition, specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience implementing Information Systems Security, specifically working within DoD or Intelligence Community compliance frameworks.
  • Experience performing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes (such as the Risk Management Framework), the ability to assess and mitigate system vulnerabilities, and an understanding of Multi-Level Security (MLS) guidelines.
  • Experience preparing for this role in a developmental position (such as an ISSO or junior security analyst) would have experience drafting security documentation, conducting compliance audits, and coordinating vulnerability remediations with technical staff.
  • Experience applying written and oral communication abilities to effectively interpret security policies, draft procedures, and collaborate across diverse departmental lines.
