As a PROJECT COORDINATION SPECIALIST, GS-0301-11, you will analyze, coordinate and/or perform a variety of special projects/program assignments and studies which lead to resolution of management problems and improvement of operations. Independently develop a plan of action, recommends solutions. Coordinate with State ARNG/ ANG Command staff, Directorates or Group Commanders and, NGB Functional Managers to obtain and exchange information and develop recommendations for management decisions. Monitor and analyze program/project progress, recommending changes based on findings as needed. Develop all reports, briefings, and status of assigned projects/programs. Perform a wide variety of support duties to facilitate the work of the office. Arrange scheduling of appointments, meetings, briefings, and other commitments that have a directly effecting on future decisions and program direction. Other duties as assigned.

Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK"
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5 day workweek, then a 4 day workweek ( 8 nine-hour days and 1 eight-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80 hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Position requires a security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate government motor vehicles, for the state in which they live -or- principally employeed, in accordance with Army and Air Force Vehicle Operations Directives.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • Applicants who meet the DoD Retained Grade Priority Placement Program category are eligible to apply with this preference.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training which provides you with a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience in compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level with education or training in program or managerial experience in a particular type of work or a combination of functions. Do you have experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.


Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office. Occasional travel is required.

Education

Education is NOT a requirement, but may be substituted for some Specialized experience with the following degree/degree levels for GS 11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related
