This position is located in the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae), Single-Family Division (SFD), Office of Issuer and Portfolio Management (OIPM). Ginnie Mae is a wholly owned government corporation created to help expand homeownership opportunities for low and moderate-income Americans, by linking global capital markets to the nation's housing markets. OIPM is responsible for the management of Ginnie Mae's relationships with its approved issuers, including account management, program development and training, and monitoring of the performance of Ginnie Mae issuers and the Ginnie Mae portfolio.


As an Account Executive (Mortgage-Backed Securities), you will:
- Play a leadership role within SFD serving as subject matter expert for one or more topical areas that are critical to functions of the Division.
- Develop knowledge of the assigned issuers and their businesses, including key drivers of the business in general and their utilization of the Ginnie Mae program in particular.
- Oversee and provide guidance to other team Account Executives about relationship management issues with their assigned issuers.
- Cultivate relationships with executive management and key operational staff.
- Monitor news sources, in particular industry trade publications, for information about issuers.
- Communicate pertinent information about issuers within Ginnie Mae, in particular through the use of the CRM technology used within IPM.

The official duty station for this position will be in Alexandria, Virginia. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one year probationary period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Experience as a representative in the residential mortgage lending and secondary market community; AND
-Assisting with managing a program that provides risk oversight and ensures compliance with mortgage-backed securities industry standards; AND
-Monitoring of approved issuers participating in Single Family, Manufactured Housing, or Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) loans programs; AND
-Managing and overseeing activities of an office, staff, or project team which has responsibility for mortgage-backed securities programs.


The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
