Duties

Help

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

As a Quality Assurance Specialist at the NH-1910-4 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Serves as a technical expert in quality and mission assurance. Assess, evaluates, monitors, and manages resources to ensure acceptable quality and mission assurance standards and concepts are imported within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) workforce and programs.
  • Participates in the planning, assigning and directing personnel with extensive backgrounds in either Engineering or Quality Management in monitoring and conducting reviews.
  • Establishes and monitors processes and practices that ensure compliance with quality and mission assurance strategies, policies, agreements, standards, and sponsors or develops the tools, techniques, training, and practices to advance quality and mission assurance capabilities and awareness within the organization and among contractor support staff.
  • Provides expert policy and quality assurance advice and recommendations, technical guidance, and direction of the resources, personnel, and mission efforts necessary to support and advance critical ballistic missile defense research and development efforts with the highest quality products and results.
  • Provides program oversight to ensure effective use of quality and mission assurance resources, and designs and develops training and professional development initiatives to ensure the MDA workforce is knowledgeable in implementing quality and mission assurance concepts, techniques, and workplace practices.
  • Draft reports, studies and analyses, and formal presentations related to quality and mission assurance status, practices, issues, compliance standards, and trends within the MDA workforce and program management.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-04 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 2 of the 3 specialized experience listed below to be qualified:

  • Manufacturing/testing complex mechanical or electrical aerospace assemblies.
  • Auditing processes associated with the manufacturing/testing of complex mechanical or electrical aerospace assemblies.
  • Implementing Quality, Safety, or Mission Assurance practices within defense, aerospace, or space systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
