Duties

Help

Works directly for Information Ticket and Travel Manager with the financial and administrative operations of Kadena ITT's Local Tour, International Tour, and Ticket Programs. Leads three or more NAF Recreation Aids and Assistants on a regular and recurring basis. Responsible to Supervisor for ensuring work assignments are carried out, maintaining a current knowledge and answering questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, and obtain needed information or decisions from Supervisor on problems that come up. Provides on the job training to new employees in accordance to established procedures and practices. Instructs employees on specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. Resolves simple, informal complaints of employees and refer others to supervisor. Assists Recreation Specialist with various personnel and vendors (both American and Japanese) in the planning and organizing of local tours to include preparing itineraries, logistical support, and Kadena ITT bus fleet schedule. Assists in researching and gathering information for future tour and travel locations. Makes recommendations to the Information Ticket and Travel Manager, to include planning, developing and administering of a comprehensive and diversified year-round tour and travel program. Coordinates programs with marketing and publicity to promote hotel reservation, local tours, airport transportation, tour schedules and travel information. Assists customers in making hotel reservations, providing local and international travel information, and aiding customers with individual travel plans. Prepares and safeguards cash receipts and prepares daily cashier's report. Makes bank deposits as required. Performs as a tour guide or tour escort. May on occasions assist in driving a 15 PAX vehicle to support airport transportation services. Records and tracks daily tour sales. Responsible for the preparation of afteraction financial reports on all tours. Evaluates programs to ensure customer satisfaction. Resolves customer concerns and conflicts in accordance with guidelines according to program requirements. Supports the Information Ticket and Travel Manager through training of tour guides who assists with tours. Performs other related duties as assigned

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have local tour guide and travel reservation experience. Must have knowledge of planning, preparation, and scheduling of an actual Tour or Travel Program. Knowledge and understanding of Japanese business customs and courtesy, local tourist attractions and annual special events is highly desirable. Experience which demonstrates people skills; outgoing and approachable, with excellent customer service skills. Typing skills and computer knowledge is required. Must be able to read, speak, and write English. Japanese language skills are desireable. Must have experience which demonstrates people skills in customer service setting, well-organized, accurate, detail oriented, professional and courteous. Ability to work independently. Drivers license required. Must be available to work an uncommon tour of duty to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Satisfactory completion of a local files check and National Agency Check required. This is a drug testing designated position.

Education
