Duties

Help

As a MILITARY and FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-09, you will serve as fully independent advisor within geographical area of responsibility in accomplishing all objectives of the Soldier & Family Readiness Program (SFRP) for the Army National Guard to maximize retention and readiness; manage and operate family assistance center and provide assistance to commands within geographical area of responsibility in support of the SFRP; provide training and technical support to Commanders and Family Readiness Liaisons to support their Unit Family Readiness program and Soldier & Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs); submit information to support development and budget forecasting to support the Soldier and Family Readiness Support Program to higher headquarters; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one (12 months) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service (GS-07) or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of managing, coordinating and planning family, quality-of-life or human services programs. Experience providing advice and assistance on community resources and social service agencies/programs. Experience analyzing, evaluating and making recommendations for improvement of family, quality-of-life or human services programs. Experience developing newsletters, literature and training materials to support a program.

Education

You must provide transcripts documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):

- Knowledge required in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.

- Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative personnel.

- Knowledge of dealing with problems and relationships of a procedural nature rather than the substance of work operations, issues, or other subjects studied.

- Knowledge involving gathering information, identifying and analyzing issues and developing recommendation to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program.

- Ability to plan and carry out projects to improve the efficiency and productivity of organizations and employees in administrative support activities.

- Ability to contact persons outside of the National Guard, which may include consultants, contractors, or business executive in a moderately unstructured setting.

- Ability to advice mangers on non-controversial organization or program related issues and concerns.
